Introducing Gallinee: Your New Favourite Skincare Brand

Introducing Gallinee: Your New Favourite Skincare Brand

The Gallinee brand use probiotics within product formulas because of their proven benefits towards sensitive skin, ageing and inflammatory issues. We are used to hearing about probiotic diets and how these can benefit our health; but founder of Gallinee, Marie Drago decided to take this further by introducing probiotics into a skincare range. Drago looked into the use of probiotics for the skin, however when she couldn’t find enough information, she went on to work with a French university to do the testing herself.

Wondering where to start? Here is a guide to the Gallinee range..

Gallinee Face Vinegar | £21

Vinegar for your face might sound odd at first, but this vinegar contains Acibiome, a novel prebiotic that works to calm stressed skin and prevent it from further irritations alongside postbiotics that allow the skin’s beneficial bacteria to flourish. Apple cider vinegar has been used as a ‘skincare hack’ for years, however this is a vinegar designed specifically for your skin.

The Face Vinegar purifies with acetic acid to gently dislodge dirt and unhealthy bacteria. Another important ingredient is tannins, which has been found to regulate sebum. It protects the skin with antioxidants which help stop free radicals from attacking and degrading skin cells. The vinegar even includes a recognised AHA (alpha hydroxacid), the gentle exfoliating action stimulates cell renewal for a smoother, refined finish.

What actually are probiotics?

Probiotics are good bacteria which can be inserted into formulas to take care of your skin. When applied, they influence the balance of the skin microflora. This helps to level out the skin’s pH levels. The acid pH prevents growth of harmful bacteria.

What are prebiotics?

Prebiotics are generally plant-derived ingredients such as fibres or nuts. Good bacterias can eat prebiotics to grow and multiply.
